The fact that my bank account is in tatters – TATTERS! – is neither here nor there. Bernadette and I survived convention – that’s the important thing – and we’re now enjoying a well earned week of reacclimation to normal life.
For the record, real life involves much less white cheddar popcorn, champagne, giggling, and sleep deprivation.
I have slept a LOT in the past few days.
I wish I could show you every little wonderful thing I bought, but it overwhelms me to think about that many photos. One highlight was a tagged Au Bon Marche straw bonnet for a French fashion doll. I don’t believe the dealer understood its value – I got a real bargain! There was also a fabulous near-mint pair of heeled shoes with intact star embellishments, which I think Felicity has laid claim to. I stocked up on antique lace, vintage millinery flowers, and antique buckles. So many gorgeous buckles! And of course, as always, I came home with a couple of new four-legged friends. Bernadette is quite enchanted by the little Doxie, as you can see above.
As for the Bleuette gathering, it was well attended and lots of fun. Bernadette posed in her disguisement and enjoyed all the kind words that came her way. One of these days soon I’ll take a good set of photos of her in her Hollandaise costume, and post them over HERE in the gallery. But for now, I do believe another nap is coming on. . .
